All the ai companies have been scraping the gitea mirror non-stop for months now.

This is dumb on so many levels it would probably take a mid-sized book to list it all. It also shows that they have pretty much infinite money, and about zero amount of brain activity.

So the gitea mirror is now behind anubis. This unfortunately means that it can't be accessed if javascript is not enabled.

2026. 10. 23:

Now some weird botnet is scraping the gitea mirror. They just solve the anubis challenge to do it. Now I don't really mind it that much, I'm not dumb enough to use cloud providers, and the server can easily handle the requests, but they download zips of commits, which can fill up the space on it, so:

Code zip downloads have been disabled for now.

The only thing that baffles me about this, is that if they have this mush resources, couldn't they just hire competent managers, and software engineers?

Scraping a git mirror like this would take about 5 minutes in total if they had a working brain in their head.
